Attending E3 gives me unparalleled access to the latest and greatest from the top gaming brands. In 2024, I’m most excited to see what the next generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles will offer. For gamers, by gamers – that’s the motto of the ever-popular PAX West gaming festival held annually in Seattle. In 2024, PAX West is sure to bring its lively atmosphere celebrating gaming culture to the Washington State Convention Center from late August to early September.
As an avid gamer, I couldn’t be more thrilled to explore this massive fan convention in 2024. I’ll get to test out hundreds of unreleased games on the expo floor, attend panels hosted by gaming celebs, compete in tournaments, check out cool merch, and so much more. It’s a haven for gamers like me. With any luck, I’ll even get to try out some blockbuster titles months before their official launch!
Gamescom
In August 2024, gamers from around the world will descend upon Cologne, Germany for Gamescom. This gaming trade fair is held annually to showcase upcoming games and hardware. Gamescom is notable for attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees each year.
In the past, major developers have hosted press conferences and revealed exclusive content at Gamescom shortly after E3. I’m hopeful a similar pattern emerges in 2024, as post-E3 Gamescom announcements would give me even more gaming news to look forward to next year. Getting some hands-on time with the biggest upcoming game releases on the Gamescom show floor would be a dream come true.
Tokyo Game Show
Towards the end of 2024, the gaming world will turn its attention to Tokyo Game Show (TGS). TGS is a massive expo held each September that gives the public a first look at new games development studios in Japan are working on.
As someone who grew up with classic Japanese games, I have a strong appreciation for the creative output from studios like Nintendo, Square Enix, Capcom, and many more. I hope to catch some exclusive reveals and demos from these legendary developers at TGS 2024. It will also be a chance for me to get acquainted with up-and-coming studios before their games make their way West.
