The Best Upcoming Games Based on Books and Comics

Video games based on books and comics have seen a surge in popularity in recent years. As technology advances, developers are able to bring these beloved worlds to life like never before. Here are some of the most anticipated upcoming games based on books and comics that I’m excited about.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the magical world of Harry Potter during the late 1800s. As a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I’ll get to experience life as a witch or wizard like never before. I’m looking forward to attending classes, learning spells, exploring the castle, building relationships, and embarking on an epic journey. The ability to freely roam the Wizarding World and create my own story is an absolute dream come true.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

As a huge Tolkien fan, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is high on my radar. This stealth action-adventure game follows Gollum on a quest to reclaim the One Ring. I’m fascinated to see Gollum as the protagonist and how his split personalities of Smeagol and Gollum come into play. The tense cat-and-mouse gameplay as I sneak and climb through perilous environments should provide an appropriately thrilling Middle-earth experience. I can’t wait to return to this beloved fantasy world.

Gotham Knights

The Batman universe expands in Gotham Knights, an open-world action RPG set in a futuristic Gotham City. Playing as Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, I’m excited about the prospect of an original story with this iconic cast of characters. The ability to play solo or team up in co-op multiplayer adds appeal. And with the Court of Owls as the central villain, I’m hopeful for a strong Batman-inspired storyline. This could be the perfect game for fans longing for more Batman adventures.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

As a major DC fan, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looks incredibly promising. Playing as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark or Captain Boomerang, my mission is to take down Superman and other members of the Justice League who have been brainwashed. The destructive open-world of Metropolis should make for a thrilling playground. And the chance to cause mayhem with this chaotic crew of antiheroes is highly appealing. This game looks set to deliver a unique twist on the Suicide Squad.

Sonic Frontiers

Speed demon Sonic zooms into the open-zone 3D world of Sonic Frontiers. With lush environments and powerful enemies to battle, this game represents a major evolution for the blue hedgehog. I’m intrigued by the shift to non-linear gameplay and a focus on combat and exploration. If the developers can maintain Sonic’s sense of speed and momentum while incorporating new gameplay elements, this could redefine the iconic franchise. I’m hopeful that Sonic’s first open-world game will live up to the hype.

The coming years look bright for games based on our favorite fictional worlds. With stunning graphics and innovative gameplay, these titles aim to provide immersive, memorable experiences. I’m excited to embark on these new interactive adventures.
