Our Tips To Maximise Your iPhone Battery Life

Unplug Your Charger, Mate!

As a lifelong tech enthusiast and occasional iPhone repair technician, I’ve learned a thing or two about squeezing every last drop of juice out of our beloved Apple devices. And let me tell you, the key to maximising your iPhone’s battery life is as simple as… unplugging your charger. Hear me out, mates!

You see, the battery inside your iPhone is like a moody Aussie – it performs best when it’s not constantly being monitored and micromanaged. [1] Let that little battler have some freedom, and it’ll reward you with hours of uninterrupted usage. Just imagine the joy of being able to binge-watch Stranger Things on your commute without your battery dipping into the red zone. Bliss, I tell ya!

Stay Cool, Calm, and Collected

But wait, there’s more! Another surefire way to keep your iPhone’s battery healthy is to avoid subjecting it to extreme temperatures. [1] Now, I know what you’re thinking – how on earth am I supposed to avoid the scorching UK summers or the blistering winter winds? Easy, mate. Just keep your iPhone close to your body, like a newborn joey in a kangaroo’s pouch. That way, you’re insulating it from the elements and keeping it at that perfect 62-72°F (16-22°C) sweet spot.

And speaking of temperature, did you know that charging your iPhone in a hot environment can actually do more harm than good? [1] It’s true! So, next time you’re out and about and your battery’s running low, resist the urge to plop your phone onto the dashboard of your car. Instead, find a nice, cool spot to juice it up. Your iPhone (and your battery life) will thank you for it.

Embrace the Dark Side

Now, I know what you’re thinking – “But Mate, how am I supposed to enjoy all the flashy features and vibrant displays that make my iPhone so bloody brilliant?” Well, fear not, my friend, for there is a solution that doesn’t involve sacrificing your eyeballs: Low Power Mode. [2]

This little gem of a setting is like a superhero cape for your iPhone’s battery. With just a tap, it can dial down the screen brightness, stop those pesky background app refreshes, and even halt mail fetching. [2] And the best part? You can enable it right from your Control Center, so you don’t even have to break a sweat.

Tame Those Notifications, Mate

Speaking of app refreshes, did you know that those constant notifications can be a real battery-draining culprit? [2] It’s true! Every time your iPhone lights up with a new message, email, or social media update, it’s using a little bit of that precious battery life.

But fear not, my friends, for there’s a solution to this as well. By taking a few minutes to tame your notification settings, you can cut down on unnecessary battery drainage and keep your iPhone powered up for longer. [3] Just head to your Settings, then to the “Notifications” section, and start culling those attention-seeking apps one by one. Trust me, your battery (and your sanity) will thank you.

Location, Location, Location

Another sneaky battery-sucker is your iPhone’s location services. [3] You know, those little buggers that always want to know where you are, even when you’re just trying to deposit a cheque or check the weather. Well, it’s time to take back control, mates.

Head on over to your Settings, then to “Privacy” and “Location Services”, and start shutting down any apps that don’t absolutely need to know your whereabouts. [3] Unless you’re using a navigation app or a social media platform that relies on location data, there’s really no reason for most of your apps to be constantly tracking your every move. Trust me, your battery life (and your privacy) will be much better off for it.

So there you have it, mates – my top tips for maximising your iPhone’s battery life. From unplugging your charger to taming those pesky notifications, there are plenty of easy ways to keep your beloved device powered up and ready for action, no matter what the day throws your way. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start squeezing every last minute of juice out of your iPhone!
