To harness the full potential of the Threadripper Pro CPU, we’ll pair it with the Asus Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI motherboard. This beefy AMD WRX80 chipset-based board offers ample PCIe lanes, quad-channel memory support, and robust power delivery to ensure stable and reliable operation, even under heavy 3D workloads.

Memory (RAM)

For memory, we’ll equip our workstation with 64GB of high-speed G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 RAM. This dual-channel kit not only offers the capacity to handle large 3D scenes, but the fast DDR4-3600 speed and tight CL16 timings will help maximize performance in both CPU- and GPU-bound tasks.

Additionally, the RTX 4090’s massive size and power requirements will necessitate a high-performance case with ample airflow and cooling capabilities, like the NZXT H710i.

Beyond the physical cooling hardware, we’ll also pay close attention to optimizing the thermal management of our 3D workstation. This may include monitoring component temperatures, adjusting fan curves, and ensuring adequate airflow throughout the case to maintain optimal operating conditions, even under heavy 3D workloads.
