Unlock the Power of Your Library: A Comprehensive Guide for Maximizing Your Academic Journey

As a seasoned IT professional, I’m excited to share with you a wealth of practical tips and insights to help you make the most of your library resources. Whether you’re a new or returning student, this guide will equip you with the essential information you need to seamlessly navigate the library’s services, spaces, and technologies.

Explore Library Resources: Unlock a World of Knowledge

The library is a treasure trove of resources, both physical and digital, that can propel your academic success. Let’s dive in and discover how to effortlessly access the materials you need.

Finding Books and More
Start your research journey with the library’s powerful search tool, OneSearch. This comprehensive platform provides access to a diverse array of resources, including books, journal articles, textbooks, news, streaming videos, and audio collections. Using OneSearch, you can easily locate physical books available on the library shelves, as well as explore the wealth of online materials.

If you’re looking for course-specific materials, be sure to check the Course Reserves collection. Here, you’ll find a selection of textbooks and other resources that your professors have made available for student use. Simply visit the Library and Information Technology Desk to request these materials.

Can’t find what you’re looking for on the shelves? No problem! The library offers options to expand your search, including the ability to request books from other libraries or ask the library to purchase a copy of the book you need.

Accessing Digital Resources
The library’s digital resources are a treasure trove of information. With your student login, you can access a vast array of e-books, e-journals, and databases that cover a wide range of academic disciplines. Whether you’re conducting research, writing a paper, or exploring a new topic, these digital resources are just a click away.

Borrowing Books and Materials
Borrowing physical books from the library is easy and free. You can check out items for a period of 28 days, and if you need something for longer, you can always renew the loan. To check out books, simply head to the self-checkout station located on Level A, right next to the Library and Information Technology Desk.

Don’t forget about the Course Reserves collection, where you can borrow textbooks and other course materials for up to 3 hours at a time. This is a great way to access the resources you need for your assignments and class preparations.

Multimedia and Creative Resources
The library offers a range of cutting-edge technologies and creative spaces to support your academic and personal pursuits.
