PC or gaming laptop? We check the novelties

Gamers have high demands on the performance of PCs and laptops, so when choosing the equipment for themselves, they tend to focus on novelties. High-end components enable smooth gameplay with full graphic detail. Which PCs and gaming laptops are worthy of attention? Which components to choose?

PC for the player – which components are worth choosing?

When it comes to gaming PC parts, the latest CPUs, in particular, deserve attention. The competition between Intel and AMD is fierce, so players can choose from many really efficient chips. Gamers with a large budget can opt for an Intel Core i9-10900K processor. This CPU has as many as 10 cores and 20 logical threads, which puts it among the best components of its kind. Using the PC configurator (see here), you can also choose slightly cheaper Intel processors, e.g. i7 10700K or i5-10600K, which will work well in gaming computers. AMD offers players chips from the Ryzen series. The AMD Ryzen 9 3950X chip has 16 cores, while the 3900X model has 12 cores.

The NVIDIA RTX 3000 stands out among gaming graphics cards, designed for gaming PCs and computers used in specialized applications. The RTX series is recommended for gamers due to its ray tracing support. Ray tracing improves the quality of lighting in games and makes the picture more natural. When choosing AMD graphics cards, it is worth to install Radeon RX series chips in your computer.

The gaming machine should also include a fast SSD. Thanks to it, games load faster and run smoother. It is worth to install the SSD in your computer, even if you want to store data on standard HDD. Two drives in a gaming computer work together effectively and the cost of such a modification is really low. SSD prices are falling, so it really pays off to invest in them.

Ready-made gaming computers can be bought for a few hundred Pounds, but for real gaming enthusiasts, models for 1 thousand Pounds and more are more suitable. Players, who run the streamy for their fans, invest even 5 thousand £££ in PCs.

Gaming laptops – which models are worthy of attention?

In gaming laptops, you should check your graphics card and processor. The former shouldn’t be weaker than the GeForce GTX 1050. It’s not newer, but its power is high enough to still cope well with most games in lower details. If you have a larger budget, you better bet on newer GTX chips or the most efficient RTX with ray tracing. Optimal processor for a gaming laptop is Intel Core i7 chip of eighth or newer generation.

RAM in gaming laptop should have at least 8 GB. Currently, it is a minimum to run games with average requirements. If you have a limited budget, you can bet on 8 GB DDR4 RAM. At the same time, you should leave yourself the option to expand the RAM in the future with more memory dice. The SSD should have at least 256 GB. The diagonal of the screen in the gaming laptop is a matter of user preferences. Most players bet on a 15-17 inch diagonal matrix.

For the price, up to £700 players can purchase Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 81LK00B2PB. 15-inch Full HD matrix, Intel Core i5-9300 processor, Nvidia Turing GeForce GTX 1650, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD form the basic gaming set. This is the right hardware for the player with average requirements. For the price up to £900, you will buy HP Pavilion Gaming R7-3750H. GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q graphics card and AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor provide satisfactory performance in most games. The 15.6″ screen with 144Hz refresh rate is appreciated by fans of network shooters. The display provides excellent visibility in FPS games, which translates into better reflexes and increases the chance of winning a duel with an opponent.
